Description | About us We are a private Single Family Office (SFO) with a gated estate. We have a temporary school built on the estate and are currently building a bigger school. One child is a 11 year old with diagnosed autism that is only semi verbal but with proven excellent cognitive skills. The second is a 7 year old with diagnosed severe dyslexia. You will be working under our main existing teacher. We have trimesters and are working on a flexible school year that could go into the Summer to help the children. Our work environment includes: Private parking Responsibilities: - Willingness to drive student to therapy once a day. Salary: The salary for this position is competitive and comparable to the state of Oklahoma's standards for special education teachers with autism and dyslexia expertise. Required Qualifications | - Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, or associate’s for paraprofessional - Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain one). - Proven experience working with students on the autism spectrum, implementing effective teaching strategies and accommodations. - Strong understanding of various autism interventions and behavior management techniques. - Familiarity or willingness to learn in Spelling to Communicate (S2C) is and knowledge of I-ASC principles highly desired. - Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues. - Flexibility is a must |
