Description

The Middle School Mathematics Teacher facilitates student growth in both academic and interpersonal skills by delivering district-approved curriculum, assessing student progress, and addressing individual learning needs. The teacher is responsible for creating a safe, flexible, and engaging learning environment while providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals. The teacher is also expected to integrate the Oklahoma A+ (OKA+) Schools Model, incorporating arts, collaboration, and multiple learning pathways to support student success and engagement.

Essential Responsibilities:

-Develop and implement middle school mathematics curriculum aligned with district goals, objectives, and the OKA+ Schools Model.
-Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages individualized and small-group instruction.
-Utilize arts integration and interdisciplinary connections to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
-Design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize instructional time and support diverse learning styles.
-Deliver mathematics instruction that aligns with state and district standards while fostering creativity and critical thinking.
-Assess student learning through ongoing formative and summative evaluations, adjusting instruction to meet diverse student needs, including those with special education requirements.
-Promote responsible citizenship and positive character development in accordance with school policies and educational regulations.
-Engage in ongoing professional development, including training in OKA+ strategies, to stay current with best practices in mathematics instruction and arts integration.
-Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and assessments, ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations.
-Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement and encourage parental involvement.
-Establish and uphold high standards of student behavior to maintain a productive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
-Collaborate with colleagues, grade-level teams, and interdisciplinary staff to enhance curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.
-Select and manage instructional resources, materials, and classroom technology to support learning objectives.
-Supervise students during school-related activities outside the classroom, including transportation, field trips, and extracurricular events.
-Administer standardized assessments in accordance with district testing protocols.
-Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or district administration.

Preferred Qualifications -Strong knowledge of effective teaching methods, differentiated instruction, and educational pedagogy.
-Proficiency in middle school mathematics curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
-Understanding of and commitment to the OKA+ Schools Model, including arts integration and collaborative teaching strategies.
-Ability to analyze student data and implement targeted instructional plans.
-Familiarity with educational technology and student information systems.
-Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
-Commitment to professional growth, self-evaluation, and continuous improvement.
-Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
