Description

Morris Public Schools has an opening for a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Follows the procedures, practices, and guidelines outlined by the school site, district, OSDE and IDEA regulations.
Assesses and screens preschool and school age students per teacher or parent request.
Consults with parents and staff regarding student needs and the referral process. Schedules meetings with parents and staff as necessary or directed.
Completes evaluations and reevaluations timely; writes evaluation reports timely; completes all speech referral paperwork necessary for gaining permission to evaluate. Writes the RED, MEEGS and/or IEP.
Develops student schedules for speech therapy and provides the speech therapy as per the IEP.
Complete assessments/checklists and progress reports per grading period or as directed by district.
Performs other duties as requested including but not limited to testing, IEP meetings, site duties per school schedule such as recess, lunch, before and after school duty, etc.
Essential Behavior:
Ability to use sound judgment in any situation. Must be able to respond rapidly and appropriately to the needs of students. Must build harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with administrators, site staff students and parents. Ensures that the provision and documentation of speech/language services to students is aligned and connected to the goals and objectives of the district.

Required Qualifications Hold valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
Hold ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) or be eligible for ASHA Clinical Fellowship.
Master's degree required.
Current Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech/Language Pathology Licensure or temporary license for entry level speech pathologists.
